OLAF: Macedonia to return more than 2.2 million euros
The macedonian National Agency for European Educational Programs and Mobility has to transfer more than 2,2 million euros back to the European Commission due to fraud. Since March 18, 2024, I have published at Nota.mk a series of articles related to the fraud of EU funds, OLAF’s investigations, and relations between a governmental representative and the person at the top of the fraud network. Ten days after the first article, the director of the National Agency organized a press conference in the government and admitted the request. The articles revealed pressure made by a former prime minister in order to withdraw the file at the state prosecution related to this fraud, information about the judicial process against the person who reported the misuse to the European Commission and to the national authorities, and OLAF's documents that reveal that this person hasn't misused EU funds, but the one on the top of the network, who has a recorded track of frauds with EU money on the one hand and political support on the other. I was able to have an interview with one of OLAF's witnesses, too, and to reveal that the individuals, companies, and schools involved in this fraud are still receiving money from the EU throughout projects. Foreign NGOs are involved in the fraud, too. The pictures below lead you to the articles in Macedonian.
